Complex Repairs Done Right.
Engine problems, transmission issues, electrical gremlins—we diagnose accurately and fix properly. Not patches. Real solutions.
Major repairs are expensive. That’s why accuracy matters. We don’t guess; we diagnose with computer scanning and technical expertise. Once we know the real problem, we explain your options and fix it right.

Get It Right The First Time
Misdiagnosing a repair costs you twice—once for the wrong fix, again for the right one. We use professional diagnostics and 8+ years of German car expertise to get it right the first time.
Repair or Replace? Honest Advice First
A major repair is a big decision, and sometimes the right answer is not to spend the money. Before we quote, we look at the condition and value of the whole car and tell you plainly whether the repair makes sense. If there is a cheaper sound option – a repair instead of a replacement, or a quality reconditioned unit – we will explain it.
Signs Your Car May Need Major Work
- Rattling on a cold start (often a timing chain)
- Coolant level dropping, or oil and coolant mixing
- Clutch slipping or biting very high
- Jerky or delayed gear changes on an automatic or DSG gearbox
- Loss of power with smoke from the exhaust
- Knocking from the suspension or vague steering
If you notice any of these, get the car checked early. A fault caught in time is almost always cheaper than the damage it causes if the car keeps being driven.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long will a major repair take?
It depends on the job and on parts availability. We give you a realistic timeframe with the quote and tell you straight away if anything changes.
Will the price change once you start?
The quote covers the work we have diagnosed. If we open the engine or gearbox and find something else, we stop, show you and agree the next step with you before continuing.
Do you repair engines and gearboxes yourselves?
Yes. Timing chains and belts, head gaskets, injectors, turbos, clutches and gearbox work are all carried out in our own workshop in Ashbourne.
My car broke down and cannot be driven. What do I do?
